What Does it Mean to be an HIV Funder?
Funders Concerned About AIDS (FCAA) is a philanthropy-serving organization that informs, connects, and supports private funders in their response to the global pandemic of HIV and AIDS. As funding moved away from a siloed, disease-specific approach to become more integrated, FCAA wanted to pivot its messaging to appeal to a broader, “HIV-informed” funder audience. But first, it needed to define what HIV-informed funding actually means.
To help do that, GCS created a series of videos asking one simple question: What does it mean to be an HIV-informed funder? We leveraged the news hook of World AIDS Day to launch a campaign, creating shareables for each video with a key soundbite. A playlist of the videos was posted on FCAA’s YouTube site, and they are still being used to help grantmakers see themselves funding the AIDS response.
